What we collect
When you sign in with Google we receive:
- Your name and email address
- Your profile picture (optional)
- Account creation timestamp
As you use the product we record:
- Rooms you create and join
- Songs you add to queues and your playback actions
- Connection times and session length
Technical signals collected automatically:
- IP address and approximate location
- Browser and device type
- Connection logs and error reports (via Sentry)
How we use it
We use the information we collect to:
- Run and maintain the music collaboration service
- Synchronize playback in real time across participants
- Manage room access and permissions
- Improve the product and build new features
- Provide support when you contact us
- Protect against abuse and meet legal obligations
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS everywhere)
- Encryption at rest for our Postgres database
- Google OAuth for authentication - we never store passwords
- Access controls and routine security review
Your rights
You can at any time:
- Export your data as JSON or HTML from Settings
- Delete your account and all associated data from Settings - permanent, no waiting period
- Opt out of PostHog analytics from Settings - the choice follows your account across devices
- Request corrections to your data by emailing us
- Ask any privacy-related question at any time
